Cron job to summarize changes in a table of items for sale

Need help in writing a con job to monitor and summarize a database of items for sale. The program must look for all items that were added or modified or expired in a MySQL table since the last time it ran (each item has a timestamp), and for each item added/modified/closed display a summary of changes and store them in a summary table along with a score. Also need a simple search script to search through this summary table and return matching items (note: this is just a quick&dirty search. Another project will build up the real search) Not a long project, 10 hours max for a good programmer, but I expect the freelancer to pay special attention to optimize the SQL queries to speed up things (for example: do multiple insert/update/replace, not one insert per item, please!!). I have a 4 pages document that describes in detail what needs to be done. You must be comfortable with working out of a detailed specification document (I am always available for questions obviously). You will be asked to install the script on our production server (you’ll have an FTP account and a MySQL account)
