I need a perl script which reads an ARINC424 dataset, and populates a postgres database (if you use DBI/DBD - its similar to a mysql database) with an existing schema. The ARINC424 dataset is a text file with fixed width fields. See the attached example. The ARINC424 data specification and the destination database schema will be provided.

Whereas the assignment looks like a somewhat classical 'homework' at first, the details might make a bit of a difference. Anyway - you'll get an easy to change or update utility, so as to be able to adapt to slight changes by yourself later on. Will you run it in a Linux environment ?
