Alter some Images

I have 20 cartoon/animated images (Some JPEG, Some PNG) which I wish to manipulate and change in few simple ways. I want to change the primary colours of a the primary/single character (2 - 3 colours), remove backgrounds and to have sharp, high def source files returned. The files will be used and published to a website.
