AUTOMATION TASK DESCRIPTION & OUTPUT REQUIREMENT
I'm looking for an application, workflow or script to complete the following process/workflow:
START with 2 (or more) files, for example, [login to view URL] & [login to view URL] in an existing folder on the desktop called “BASE”
Action 1: Copy the two image files to another existing folder on the desktop called “OUTPUT”
Action 2: Change the file extension of the copied files in the output folder from .jpg to .shtml (they are now essential text files.)
Action 3: Replace all the text of the new .shtml files with new text through a ‘text replace’ action (see text below)
Action 4: Move the original .jpg from the BASE folder to the OUTPUT folder so the output folder contains the two original files and two .shtml files of the same name. 4 files in total.
The action is effectively, open the .shtml file, select all text, delete all text, insert the new text as below, save the file, cloe the file.
(1) <html>
(2) <head>
(3) <title>INPUT TITLE</title>
(4) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(5) <img src="[login to view URL]"/>
(6) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(7) </body>
(8) </html>
Line (3) of the above code will require an manual INPUT step in the workflow. This title would be consistent across each batch of files so the title would be supplied once and then used in all the .shtml files
Line (5) of the code will be constant except for the filename which will be the same as the .shtml filename.
In this example the .shtml files would contain the below.
(1) <html>
(2) <head>
(3) <title>IMAGE 01, 02</title>
(4) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(5) <img src="[login to view URL]"/>
(6) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(7) </body>
(8) </html>
Filename would be [login to view URL]
(1) <html>
(2) <head>
(3) <title>IMAGE 01, 02</title>
(4) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(5) <img src="[login to view URL]"/>
(6) <!--#include virtual="[login to view URL]" -->
(7) </body>
(8) </html>
Filename would be [login to view URL]
Summary of Process
START WITH IN “BASE” Folder FINISH WITH IN “OUTPUT” Folder
[login to view URL] [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] (containing text described above)
[login to view URL] (containing text described above)
We intend to get this project done for you as you require. We need to ask some questions in order to have complete requirements.
Can we discuss them?

Hi,
I am a senior engineer with 8+ years of experience.
Automating tasks via scripts is one of my daily tasks, i can finish your task in one day.
Just need to clarify something, Action 2 & 3 are just to create the shtml file with the name of the image file, right?

I will use VBS for this purpose..
If you like my proposal,lets start.

Hi,
I've over 7 years experience in programming and scripting, mainly for my engineering research and related software development. Given the project description posted by you, and my experience with scripting, I can offer you a very fast turnaround.
I have a strong
background in data processing and string manipulation using Perl, python, bash and scripting in General.
I can start as early possible depending on your approval and acceptance. In relation to this application,
I can rest assured I will impart a high quality and reliable, efficient and accurate with the output.
Give me a try and I will try to get the best results and finish the project far before the deadline.
Thanks, Cracken
I've been writing bash scripts for 20 years and I've done this exact sort of thing before.
I can provide you with a windows bat script, a Linux bash script, or a Python script.
We can create a new shtml file, not copy a jpg file & rename
1. create the .shtml as your format
2. copy the .jpg file to outpud directory
2 step can do it
I think at Action 2&3, just create a new empty file with extension .shtml, and paste the text content in it should be fine. This task can be done by a VB script at Windows platform, or a Shell at Linux.
