Example below shows two pages (one version for age 5-6 and one for ages 7-9) Separate mp4 files for each page. 7-9 The Apatosaurus, sometimes called Brontosaurus, was a huge, herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Jurassic Period between 157 and 146 million years ago. Apatosaurus could grow to a length of 90 feet, stood 15 feet tall at the hips, and could weigh up to 76,000 pounds. It's head was held at least 17 feet from the ground, too high for any would-be predator. It had an extremely long neck and an even longer tail, which could measure 50 feet in length. Even its eggs were over a foot long! Scientists believe Apatosaurus must have spent all of its time grazing for huge amounts of vegetation. Like other herbivorous dinosaurs, Apatosaurus was thought to swallow stones, known as gastroliths, to help in digestion 5-6 The Apatosaurus, also known as the Brontosaurus, was a huge plant-eating dinosaur. Although it could grow up to 90 feet long, its tail accounted for over half of its length and could be 50 feet long itself! Because its head was held at least 17 feet over the ground, Apatosaurus was so large, and so tall, that it was thought to have no predators.
