Hi david, You want to make Online store which includes 3 product categories 70-80 products in all. You want a functionality that includes one click to add to shopping cart, credit card details and delivery details. There would be four pages also you want to send some sought of notification through message. We have one inhouse tool for managing product through which you can see the work going on in your project. As per your concern with CMS we CAN WORK ON BOTH Magento/Wordpress but here Magento is more preferred as this is MAINLY used to create Online Shopping Websites. Considering the small number of products he offers for sale (only 70), I would opt for Wordpress WooCommerce because is simpler to use and your client can quickly learn how to edit/delete/upload products and content. And if he will need future development or functions, they are cheaper to implement. Magento is more complicated and Magento developers are very expensive to hire. I can also take care of the design, in the same price of the development. I will create a slick and modern website, which will put in good light the products. No fancy falshy banners or cheap design.
