The long distance carpooling service marketplace website can be built. Car Owners and co-travellers to share a car and travel low cost. Users signup to the site can take both the roles - to offer rides and to take up rides (consume rides). The main modules of the website can be a. User Registration and Login module b. Listing module (Offer a ride) c. Search module for co-travellers (Find a Ride) d. Listing detail page e. Dashboard for users f. Email notifications and alerts module g. Booking module h. Site CMS and Blog 1. Car Owners: a. Car owners signup with the site and login. b. They can offer a ride to others through the site. c. Car Owners dashboard will display information such as: - Preferences, Notifications, Messages, Member Activity - Rides offered - Bookings - Messages - Ride alerts - Profile (User profile page) 2. Travellers / Users: a. Are in need of a ride on a particular date to a destination. b. Search for rides offered by others. c. Search results will list out the rides offered by car owners. d.
