Course name: ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR Assessment title: Analytical Essay Due Date: 09/09/2012 5PM AEST Length: 1500 words (+ or – 10%) Choose either the topic of PERSONALITY or EMOTION & MOODS and address this single topic throughout all parts of the essay. Referencing and in-text citations must be in APA format. Structure PART A (approx. 500 words) 1) Demonstrate knowledge regarding either a) personality or b) emotions and moods in the workplace. Students are required to demonstrate this by writing a literature review that cites a minimum of 10 refereed academic journal articles. You must use in-text citations in this section of the essay. Articles that relate to these topics can be found in full text format in databases such as Proquest, Business Source Premier and Psych Info. PART B (approx. 500 words) 2) Demonstrate increased self-awareness about either their a) personality characteristics or b) emotions and moods via the self-assessment survey that will be completed online and discussed in the Week 4 Tutorial. Results of the self-assessment survey must be attached as an appendix to the essay. After completing the self-assessment survey please make sure to copy and paste your results into a word document for inclusion in your essay. Students are required to report and analyse their test results and demonstrate an understanding of what their self-assessment results might mean for their current or future workplace behaviour. This analysis must be strongly supported by the literature in the area of personality or emotion & moods that will be discussed in Part A. You must use in-text citations in this section of the essay. PART C (approx. 300 words) 3) Apply knowledge of the literature on either a) personality or b) emotions & moods to respond to questions regarding ONE of the corresponding case studies below. Your case study answers must be strongly supported by the literature in the area of personality or emotion & moods as discussed in Part A and B. You must use in-text citations in this section of the essay.
