Downloading movies and music over the internet in some part of Africa is very difficult due to data costs and internet unreliability. As such movie producers loose alot of revenue as they're unable to reach their target users online.
This is why we want to develop a platform whereby they'll be a network of agents that have encrypted movies in their smartphones and can be able to share the files using a dedicated p2p app for a fee.
We want to employ a viral marketing model whereby any user is incentiviced to share the movies to his friends and colleagues for a fee back.
There will be a wallet that the user will top up using USSD codes to obtain coins, of which the coins will be used later to purchase and accept file transfer.
The movies will be encrypted to disallow unauthorised transfer, as such a DRM player will be included in the app. The movies will be licenced to be viewed only twice for a maximum period of 3 days.
All the processes of the app will be made to work largely offline.
In short this is more like Netflix app, but contents are receivied using a p2p network (not the internet) and files could be shared to others too using the same protocol, while value is traded for coins in the app wallet. The coins will be purchased using USSD codes by the users. Using a viral marketing model, users will be happy to share the files in order to get a refund of a fraction of their cost of acquiring the movie.
