Help with restoring a journal that is in .db format -- 2

I lost/had stolen my android phone, had to wipe it clean remotely. I had a journal program on my phone called "Day Journal" with 6 years of entries--mostly travel notes of campgrounds, parks, etc with about 3000 photos--no more than 5 photos per day. I had backed up all of the files on my computer (audio, backup, database, export, images, import, temp and templates) The database file is in .db format--but I cant open it. All of the photos are there in the images file.
The problem is that I can not find the original "Day Journal" app--anywhere. I have been looking for about 6 weeks. It is 6 years old, and probably GONE forever.
Can anyone restore this journal to some usable format?? Possible import it into a newer app called "Day One". Or even put it into an Excel file that I could search?
