Your tasks include:
• Database connection
• File manipulation

The specific details the database tables are:
Table / Field Name Description
Vehicle
VehicleId The unique identifier of the Vehicle
MakeId The Foreign Key related to the Make table
ModelId The Foreign Key related to the Model table
Year Year the vehicle was manufactured
Price Retail price of the vehicle
SoldDate The date the vehicle was sold in any date data type
Make
MakeId The unique identifier of the Make
Name Name of the Make of the Vehicle (i.e. Chevy, Ford)
Model
ModelId The unique identifier of the Model
Engine Size The size of the engine in the vehicle
Number of Doors The number of doors on the vehicle
Colour The colour of the vehicle (Black, Red etc.)
VehicleTypeId The Foreign Key related to the VehicleType table
VehicleType
VehicleTypeId Unique identifier of the Vehicle Type
Name The name of the Vehicle Type.
(i.e. 4-door, 2-door, hatchback, etc)
After creating four tables, add at least 3 rows for each table.
You can change the names of the fields if desired.
Your application should have the following view options. Organize the options in any way you
choose (menu options, buttons, etc)
• View all vehicles
o A tabular view of the vehicle table
▪ Omit the vehicle Id
▪ Display text value of foreign keys
• I.E. makeid should display “Chevy” instead of numerical value
▪ Sort the table by highest to lowest priced vehicles
• View available vehicles (vehicles not sold)
o Should look the same as View all vehicles
• View sold vehicles
o Should look the same as View all vehicles
• View company financial report
o Gives a summary of
▪ total vehicles sold
▪ total vehicles remaining to sell
▪ income gained (from vehicles sold)
• any additional calculations welcomed
• Add Data to Database
o Allow user to add data to each of the four database tables. The user will choose
each table to add/upload data to
▪ The user can use a form
▪ The user can upload a file
• You choose which formats to accept.
• Export
o All data
o Sold vehicles
o Available vehicles
o Financial summary
▪ Choose any format you’d like
In each of the views, the data to display should be queried from your database.
