Besides teaching, my most enduring training is as an advocate and lawyer (Juris Doctor, Seattle University, and member #53789 Pennsylvania Bar). This application also highlights my experience in research and writing, including work as a hard copy news reporter. I hold separate Masters of Science degrees/ Management (Emergency Services focus) and in Administration of Justice. I have also taught and advised post-secondary students for five years, including courses in: paralegal studies, criminal justice and evidence, career goal-setting, business English (my favorite subject) and business communication and writing. My love of teaching reflects the passion I hold for the law, and my legal work since the 1980s, as an attorney for workers compensation, tribes, entrepreneurs and artists, and in ADA compliance. I have served on the YLD/ABA section for IP and worked with several IP start-ups.
For many years, I've been 'blawging' about workers ‘comp,’ SSDI, and maritime negligence, CJ and Qui Tam/whistleblower rules. Two recent projects of significance have been: (1) my work as a research assistant and writer for a Ph.D. project, addressing the collaboration between universities and corporate leaders in addressing business analytics training needs in various industries for STEM; (2) contracts, strategy, and research for a project addressing the feasibility of texting services for health care access.
