Edit copy and content for three fiction books, novella length.

The author of six published novels and a collection of short stories (see my freelancer profile for full details), I have over ten years editing and proofreading experience. In that time, I have worked with all kinds of different writers - from debut authors to the much more established - writing in all kinds of different genres: literary, YA, romance, historical, fantasy etc. Familiar with all publishing standards, I will edit your three novella-length books in three stages. Firstly, a basic edit to eradicate all typos and grammatical errors. Secondly, a more creative editing focusing on sentence structure and word choice etc. And thirdly, a final edit to give your books that essential professional polish.

For the last six years, I've been an award-winning editor of genre fiction at a small press. While I focused on romance in particular, I've edited science fiction, fantasy, suspense, thriller, and horror as well. I actually charge by the word, not by the hour. I charge 0.5 cents/word for developmental edits and 1 cent/word for line edits. Assuming "novella length" = about 25,000 words total, that's $250 for line (content) edits, and $125 for developmental (substantive) edits. I would be happy to discount that to $300 for combined devs and lines. I would expect to take 2 days for developmental edits and five days for line edits (with developmental edits included if needed).
