Editing/proofreading is what I mostly do on Freelancer. One of my current jobs is proofreading a manuscript of more than 115,000 words, also for an Australian client, who is very pleased with my work so far. One of my earlier projects with Freelancer was to edit a 65,000-word science fiction novel, and the client was so pleased with my work that he commended me to Freelancer, and an article about me was published by Freelancer. I registered in February last year and have 140 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing, proofreading, and transcribing. At the beginning of this year I took on a role as the copy editor for The International Journal of Wellbeing, an online journal, and several months ago I began as the copy editor for the Blind Foundation of New Zealand. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring more than 20 books to publication and five of these clients have rehired me to work on further books. Having been a teacher of English in high school for four years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language. For six years I have been a member of a writing critique group, regularly reviewing the stories submitted.
