COURSE DESCRIPTION: (to editor feel free to change anything)
Based on Susan Binaus’s book “The Art of Dying – writing your own final chapter” this 3-class course will pass on wisdom words from the Author and the countless people of patients and loved one’s who walked the path towards death.
“We know how to greet a baby into this world. It would be wonderful to have the same knowledge about when we leave this world” Susan Binau.
Some of the topics we will discuss are:
How do we learn to live our life to the fullest if we have limited time to live? How do we support our dying loved ones? How can we ask the difficult questions? How can I support my grieving neighbor?
This course is for everyone who is interested in one of life’s biggest questions. Due to the serious topic it’s important to mention that the topic is presented by Susan Binau in a “light and positive” atmosphere.
Class 1: Author’s Note. Cancer Survivor and Author Susan Binau share her own story of transitioning from fear of dying to awareness of death. How the planning of her final chapter released stress and gave her strength to live every day to the fullest.
Class 2: Your Final Chapter. It is important to vocalize your final wishes when you are dying, and it is just as important that your relatives find a way to honor those wishes.
Class 3: How to Cope with a Loved One’s Terminal Illness. For loved ones, accepting that a dying person has only limited time left is heartbreaking; it is a time that will likely be filled with stress, worry, and sadness, but there are other approaches that will be more helpful and less painful for everyone involved.
