Book On Social Marketing - One Chapter

I am looking for a great ghostwriter to help write one chapter of a book we are producing on social media. Our goal is to find a writer who can then write the remainder of the book, which will be 8-10 chapters.

I am looking for a writer who is able to write in a conversational, easy-to-understand tone - and in the voice of our author. I am not looking for an expert on social media, as the book will be written from extensive interviews - already organized by key ideas/themes which have been 'fleshed' out - which have been recorded, transcribed, and edited. It's your job to weave it all together into a clear, concise narrative.

The chapter will be about 15-20 pages long, and we are producing a 9" X 6" perfect-bound book. I don't like using word count minimums - because I don't like filling up a chapter with extraneous stuff...but because the chapters will be more or less uniform in length - I expect them to be approximately 2000-2500 words.

This is a book I am having written for my clients, a digital marketing firm that specializes in using social marketing strategies. This book will help to establish their credibility in the field of social marketing, provide useful information, and attract potential clients. The audience for the book are Chief Marketing Officers for larger consumer/retail services.

You will be telling our client's story, not making one up. It will require, at most, minimal research on your part. I am looking for suggestions and feedback you, the professional writer.

This book is ultimately a marketing piece (although it is not to come across as that). We do want to inform clients; however, we also want to leave them with the sense that they could learn even more by working with our client. This book will look and feel like a book you would get from any major bookstore. The book will professionally designed and laid out.

To start, I am looking for a ghostwriter to write the following:

One Chapter: I have interviews, case studies, and data that you will work from to create the chapter. The chapter already has a subject, but it needs to be broken down into logical sections with section headings (likely 4-5). These headings should should have compelling titles that introduce the essential terms and ideas of the chapter and make the reader want to learn more. The 15-20 page estimate is just that. We want to tell as compelling a message as possible in as few pages as possible.

It should be written in a simple, conversational tone. I also want it to be somewhat blunt and matter-of-fact. The authors are good at what they do, and they know what they are talking about. Think Malcolm Gladwell (Outliers), Chris Brogan (Trust Agents), and Mitch Joel(Six Pixels of Separation). I want to keep in what is essential from these interviews, and take out what is not. Brevity is key! I would like to use case studies (provided). The interviews provide an idea of the 'voice' of the authors - their words need to be cleaned up, organized, and tightened up.

The completed book will have a lot of graphics, and so the writing will complement them. We will design the graphics from the writing - we don't know what's going in before we start.

I have attached a sample - not complete - of what the key points and interviews for a chapter would look like. You will have all of this prior to starting.

Before hiring, I would like to see samples of similar work that you have done. I will need to hire a writer for the remaining chapters, but would like to start out with this chapter first to get a feel for your writing and working style.

Some other considerations:

I use Google Docs to share files. You will need a Google account for this project. If you do not have one, please create one before applying.

You need a phone/Skype (preferably) number that I can call you at predetermined times. I don't work with writers who rely strictly on email. I rarely talk on the phone, but I want the ability to do so.

In order for me to consider you for this project (and possibly select you), you need to put the word "TOM" as the first word in the subject line of your bid proposal. This helps eliminate folks who haven't read through the whole job description. The devil is in the details, and I want to work with someone who feels the same. I won't run the risk of not being clear.

I am looking for someone who can complete this assignment within 7-10 days of awarding the job. I *may* be willing to be flexible with the right person.

Please make sure you bid all-inclusive. I will not pay down the road for the unforeseen, obvious changes that may be required. As a professional, I expect you to know what the scope of work for this will be.
