I am building a not too-complex educational platform that I would like to use for tutoring teenagers and young adults. This platform is based on the use of already existing web whiteboards (in them you can draw and other people using the same url will see your drawings and writings) that have integrated Voice chat, I will pay the companies who rent these urls (such as awwapp) since otherwise I would need a dedicated server and it might cost me the same (and I would need to develop my own board, plus these ones have API versions and we could play around with them).
I need a structure where I can create parents (literally parents like mom and dad), students profiles and teachers profiles (who I will personally hire). Every role has his own capabilities. Teachers (although I will decide which classes they are capable of teaching and are certified for), have both classes they can teach, and they define their availability. This creates open slots for classes. Students select the class they wanna take and the schedule they would like. If we have a match, we assign student to teacher, this enables the url we have already available to both. Also student, or parent must have already paid so that the opening of the url is possible.
There is also a module for students to upload homework so that the teacher that will tutor, can study it in advance and make the class go faster, this is important because the classes are supposed to last 45 minutes or less.
There is a tracking module in this website where either parents or students write down current grades in the class they are getting help with. And we will track over time their progress as we need to prove the users that the service is proving its effectiveness. Also they can rate and write feedback or reviews for our teachers. Parents roles are mainly to pay, assign classes to their kids and track efforts. Kids can also decide on classes and schedules, but mostly they take the class. Parent role is more limited than student in that it doesn't take the class, but receives notifications of the progress.
This website will operate in Latin America so the e-payment will be processed through Visanet-Guatemala for which I will have to give you the information so you can integrate it to the website. I hope this all makes a little bit of sense, but I can answer any questions you may have. I would like to get a quote for this project. I am not sure how much it costs or how much time would it take to develop, but mostly I want a very robust platform so I can have satisfied customers, I already have a domain and hosting available for this.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in participating and how long would it take to develop. Oh and all words in the website will be in Spanish, but we can do the translation at the very end (I will give all the words).
