FlyLife Background FlyLife Magazine has been established for 20 years as a quarterly print and more recently digital publication. The magazine is focused on fly fishing in Australia and New Zealand locations with some international material. Project Outline FlyLife is changing its digital presence, from a pragmatic, periodically updated website currently, to a content focused site, with regularly updated articles and posts across a range of topics and media formats. The focus will be on providing an entertaining and engaging source of fly fishing focused content that readers return to consume on a regular basis. FlyLife is seeking a web developer to complete the following: • Create new functionality as defined below • Setup a staging server with all required Joomla extensions configured • Assist in the selection and/or development and customization of an appropriate template for the new site design • Implement design structure, templates and Joomla CMS elements as required to meet the below brief • Generate code as required to complete the specification, including any html, javascript, etc • Assist in migration of existing content as required • Assist transitioning staging server to production environment The client will: • Provide design concept drawings (and wireframes if necessary) • Collaborate with developer to implement design • Generate all graphic design with our in house designer • Populate all templates once configured with content as required • Migrate existing content and apply new templates/styles where appropriate • Administer the website ongoing Functionality Additional to existing site: • Blog Posts o Masonry list view on home page of recent or prioritised posts o Enable user to select post categories – present masonry view of filtered list o Ideally allow more than one category allocation to a post, e.g. videos and travel or sponsored and product review o ‘Load more articles’ function to continue to load more posts to scroll further down o Popular articles tile links at bottom of post pages to lead user into additional content pages • Site admin and management o Joomla CMS based (existing site is Joomla) o Blog/article post management extension such as Easyblog or K2 – leaning toward Easyblog but open to recommendations ♣ Integration of style templates with blog management system ♣ Categorise posts o Manage promotion of site posts through social media platforms – predominantly Facebook and Instagram at present, e.g. as in Easyblogs functionality to ‘post once’ to site and to social media o Ad management extension such as StackIdeas SocialAds or iJoomla Ad Agency – again open to discussion/recommendations A more detailed brief will be sent to suitable developers
