I created an extremely powerful HTML parser framework for JAVA, the univocity HTML parser: [login to view URL]
As this is a library we prepared all documentation and tutorials to demonstrate how it works. The problem is that making people READ a lot of stuff is not exactly appealing and it's hard to demonstrate the value of the product like that. As it is potential customers have to do too much effort to simply grasp what the product can do for them.
I'm looking for someone who can actually go through the tutorial and try to use the library on a few demonstration web scraping projects. You are expected to:
1 - have at least 2 previous projects implemented with Jsoup or any other library.
2 - use our tool to build a project that does the same thing - it should be WAY easier (I'll help you to use it).
3 - write down basic articles detailing your experience and committing everything into github repositories (I can help with the writing).
4 - record demonstration videos detailing the step-by-step you took to build the solutions you achieved, highlighting how well the univocity HTML parser did in creating a scraping project, and showing how much work users would have to do without it.
To apply for this job please provide a link to your previous scraping projects that we can use as a base of comparison. I'll assist in cleaning up your code and documenting it so it gets to a state that is simple enough for people to understand.
I believe it should be relatively quick to get it all done as the framework we created is REALLY good as you can build a decent scraping script in 30 minutes once you are familiar with it. For example, it took me 40 minutes to build this example without having a previous project ready to base my answer on: [login to view URL]
