Email grouping with Mailchimp

I need to make some groups in MailChimp so that certain groups are not getting the same email twice!
For example,
Group 1 - Attended recent event (received emails from Eventbrite where they purchased tickets)
Group 2 - Current newsletter signups (may include people from group 1)
I want to be able to email group 1 about a new event but when I email group 2, I do not want people from group 1 to be included as this would be a duplicate.
