Unit Testing Engineer for Backend project

Good evening and nice to meet you, here is Michele Cimmino from Italy, I'm a software architect and CEO of Lasting Dynamics SRL. In years we continuously upgraded our development process looking always in direction of automation and innovation, I can say that in this moment our devOPS and the dev process itself are very solid. We extended a bit SCRUM principles to create a new agile methodologies that could be much more CI/CD oriented, going day after day in the direction of a continuous delivery process, in which we won't even need to perform big validation tests because the code could be deployed for production continuously. In order to achieve this standard of quality we obviously investigated a lot other agile methodologies and the TDD in particular with the purpose of getting a perfectly balanced high quality process. In terms of technologies we worked a lot with Docker, DockerSwarm, Kubernetes, for linux containers/images and pretty/clean management, Bamboo, [login to view URL] for automated deployment (but jenkins should be fine as well) and in terms of testing mainly with JEST and Cypress.io. We are strongly into Javascript, using React and Redux (With redux-saga and tons of other libraries) on the FE and node/express on BE. We even decided to build our own work flow management in order enhance all those aspects we didn't like of JIRA, zenhub, taiga, trello, pipefy and several others. Hi, I've experience with Jest, Mocha, Chai and Supertest. I also have knowledge of unit testing in Java world using JUnit and Mockito. Hi, Selecting a test framework depends strictly on your product, if it is micro services, consumer driven testing could be good fit. If you are providing rest apis, then e2r testing with mocha/chai triggered automatically via jenkins could be good option. Depending on the scale and commit ratios, unit tests can be ignored. The unit tests, the more maintenance overhead it creates. And most importantly, it is always better to identify why do you need tests. What are you expecting to get out of your tests? Run time production failures? Build time failures? Or both? Current working as a tech lead of nodejs backend dev team so I can only work 3-4 hours per days, lately my time as i am a full time worker.
