Hi, I am recently developed a smart home system using raspberry pi and arduino. Your project can be done within 3 days. I would suggest not to use lead acid car batteries as the voltage is not uniform. Instead use li-ion or li-po batteries which have a much uniform discharge rate. Raspberry pi 3 requires 5v@2.5 amps current which on lead acid batteries would cause frequent reboots due to the uneven discharge rate. Further keeping track of the battery level would be out of question. The remedy would be li-ion or li-po. Thanks, Zeeshan
