I already bid upwork. Have full ignition software & TIA portal & also Siemens PLC HW. Have done this type of configurable systems with Rockwell, Opto22 & some other PLCs with Schnieder Indusoft, Wonderware and a lot more with Microsoft HMI. With Microsoft HMI , have developed much more fully & self configuring systems. With non Microsoft HMI products, it is configurable, but much less, due to their poor capabilities. Have not had a need to do such work with Ignition, so far. Have done some HMI/SCADA jobs with it. Also, have done several BMS systems with Microsoft, talking with smart thermostats made by various vendors where systems were made self discovering. TIA side it will be good as it has a lot of horse power to support such features. We have a PLC resident MB library made for Siemens PLC also, which provides some additional features to siemens library.
The workflow described (e.g. up to 3 Gensets, 3 UPS ….) - in our case of MS HMI/SCADA, was done in a separate app & there were no limits to the quantity to pick from. In other words, n Gensets, m UPS, p AHUs may be selected by user. Also, each entity within a family can have their own personal properties also.
Some questions..
1. Is Ignition going to run in MS Windows?
2. What database , if any, do you use?
3. What Siemens PLC model(s) are in use & what is the role of PLC, other than read/write of MB data?
4. Do the field devices in use natively talk MB?
5. what is reason to pick Ignition &s7
