First let me tell you this project uses c#, VS 2013 and windows forms This is a repost - I need a way WITHOUT uploading anything to a website to connect my app to a api or service then having that service or api connect to the db that way in cpanel the user does NOT have to enter their ip into the remote host MySQL table to allow connections. I know this can be done but I can not remember what it was called If I did I would google it however I need someone who knows what they are doing for sure when it comes to this. ASK all questions to be sure you understand it all

simply; create web service to connect to the db and make whatever you want, publish it to your web server , add service reference it your winforms app , consume the service .. no need to add ip of clients to mysql server, because the actual app that connects to the db is the web service itself , not the client. btw, I am using VS 2015 .
