I would like to have a simple program written in perl that will follow a given list of users to be supplied via mysql Table that will download each tweet since the last tweet collected for that given user. It should use the twitter API Net::Twitter and use a MySQL Backend for saving both the configuration of the users to track as well as all the messages that are collected

Hi ! I'm interested in your project, you want fetch tweet from a list of users, and store results in Mysql. You want a Perl script, using Net::Twitter & DBD::mysql. I can do this, I know well Perl as CPAN tester / author, and I 'm part of AUTHORS of Perl. I've already worked with Twitter API, so fetch only new tweet will be not a problem. I can deliver a working solution, using some light-weight dependencies (Mojolicious, Mojo::mysql, Mojo::WebService::Twitter). I am opened to use Net::Twitter and DBI instead, if you'd like to stick to these modules. Please contact me to discuss the details.
