centos server speed up

We have server:
8 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5420 @ 2.50GHz and 32 gb ram
centos installed with directadmin panel
server was very fast , but since a freelancer worked on the tmp and tmps , querries are very slow, furthermore it seems that server is exploding bandwidth, so we need to see why this is, and much more important, fix the speed again
there is not that many domains on it, but the once in are core business websites
/dev/mapper/lv_home 487G 122G 341G 27% /home
/dev/mapper/lv_root 50G 38G 12G 77% /
/dev/sda1 477M 186M 266M 42% /boot
tmpfs 3,0G 0 3,0G 0% /dev/shm
so as you can see the tmpfs is not used somehow.
we know the mysqol had some problems with INNODB tables being corrupt, so we changed all tables to MYISAM instead (perhaps this is the issue
