Hi there, I have been working with the Hadoop ecosystem (both Cloudera and Hortonworks Distribution) for 3 years now. I have recently installed a cloudera hadoop cluster all by myself on a 4 node setup. So I can definitely help you migrate your cluster from cloud to on-premise. I have the following questions for you :- 1) How many nodes do you have in the existing cloud cluster? 2) How many nodes do you want in the to be physical on-premise cluster? 3) Do you want to manage the cluster via Cloudera Manager? 4) Are all the HDFS files that you want to transfer, in the form of Hive tables or there are raw hdfs files as well which needs to be transferred? 5) What is the approximate total size of all the data that needs to be transformed? Hi, setting up Cloudera will be relatively easy on an average sized cluster, provided we are installing it on a Cloudera supported distro like Centos or Ubuntu. For Copying data between clusters we can use distcp, provided the network connectivity between these two clusters is properly configured.
