I am trying to set up a unqiue IP address for each of my 4 virtual machines (virtualbox). I change the file below gedit /etc/network/interfaces ...adding these commands , but I cannot get a virtualmachine to have its own IP address.. auto eth1 allow-hotplug eth1 iface eth1 inet static address [login to view URL] #this is a sample IP address. netmask [login to view URL] gateway [login to view URL] For example, trying to assign these two IPs to each of these VMs 194.63.142.1YY, Kali03 194.63.142.1XX Kali04 Can you access via teamviewer? let me know thx Notes-According to what I read , I have taken these actions -I am using 2 adapters for each VM. Adapter 1 runs NAT. Adapter 2 host only network. -I have changed the MAC address of each VM so that they are different -I have disabled the DHCP server because its not needed.

Hi. 1) Gateway must be from the same subnet. 2) You can assign real ip only with bridged network, not host only. Otherwise host must be a router and must have ip from the same subnet, not [login to view URL]
