Create a new Cyrillic Font for the Russian Language

We are curious as to what it would take to digitalize and recreate an old Russian font taken from an old Russian Book. We would like to be able to use this font when typing and printing our articles and books on our mac.
We will attach a scan of a few pages of the book and will only consider freelancers who prove that they have the ability to create the new font by sending us a sample of their work before beginning the project. I have done many calligraphy designs in English, Arabic and Chinese. But I have never created a font yet. I don't know if I am eligible but that's your call!
