Java Video Chat(Repost)

Hello Coders, My project consist on a chat client/server application based on Java using the Java Media Framework (JMF) and the Real Time Transport Proctocol (RTP) for the streamming. The server should receive the incomming log-ons and then process the streamming connection to the clients on a One to One chat. We require the transmition of video and voice when available, text chat and a file transfer facility between chatting users, I mean, a kind of IRC's DCC file transfer, or in general a send file option like most of today's instant messengers. Basically, it is like a "light" version of MSN messenger, but of course our goal is the communication only, it doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles that most of the chat clients have, this is, we don't need emoticons, email checking, control states (out for lunch, away), etc., only a logon to the server, a list of users connected and the transmision of the text, video and audio client to client, with of course the syncronization checking and the file transfer. Feel free to develop in the way you think it is more convenient, this is, it can be with sockets, or using Tomcat as Webserver, or whathever you think is more convinient for a solid and robust development, the only mandatory tools are the JMF and RTP. The user's database is very simple, it is just the user details: the user id, password and the user's contact information. We would like to have the database in MySQL, but again, if you feel that you can use a different technology for better performance let us know.
