278176 Chinese Annotator

To CGI and Perl experts, I need to make this annotator perl script work on my site. The source code for this perl script can be found at [login to view URL] I can get the code working when I paste the Chinese text into it. However, I can't get it working when I pass the url link into it. Neverthless, it works on [login to view URL] Here is what this script does: It parses any Chinese pages and add the javascript information for each Chinese character or Chinese words which contains two or more characters. When visitors pass the cursor to the Chinese character, it will have a popup window to display the English translation for the character. The code from [login to view URL] has all the database. I need someone who can dig into the perl script to find why it does not work for the url link and fix it for me. To see a live example, go to [login to view URL] and pass [login to view URL] to the text box and click the go button. It has to work for GB5 pages/sites such as [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] etc. If you understand Chinese, that is plus.
