Script to Parse and Insert Data Correctly in MySQL Database

This script must be written to work with php 4.4 & mysql 4.1. It needs to have clear and optimized queries because the size of the tables are quite large (60,000 rows in one table). The framework is a modified oSC website. Script involves taking data from 10 database tables populated with supplier data (I already have a script to populate those from the vendor's data feed) and correctly create/update categories, manufacturers and products. I'm well versed in the database structure and oSC framework so I can explain where data needs to be inserted and what the results should be. The goal of the project is to have a script that updates once a day all the categories, manufacturers and products from tables existing in the same database that are updated once a day by another script. This script will just perform the update/create function. No import function needed. ## Deliverables I've attached a word document that outlines the details of the update/create script and what data needs to move to what fields. This document should be used as a guide but may not be all inclusive. If you see a conflict with the instructions they'll need to be changed. Expect the document to be at least 90% correct. I've attached a copy of the test database. The full database is too large to work in and the vendor tables are too large. The test database will keep us on the same page so we're testing with the same structure and data. The scripts will need to be optimized because they finished product must work on a database with thousands of rows rather than the 100 or so products I've included in this test sample. I've attached an Excel spreadsheet showing tables and fields that we'll be working from. Again this will aid in communication and work flow. Use this as a guide and not as a specification. The goal is an update script that updates/creates all tables and fields related to categories, manufacturers and products.
