Development of Joomla 3.x Component

The project is to create a Joomla 3.x custom component, based on an existing Joomla 1.5 version of the component with a few enhancements. The purpose of the component is to keep track of subscriptions and contact details. The primary elements of it are as follows: * Companies * Offices - associated with a company. A company can have multiple offices. * Contacts - associated with a company and an office. An office can have multiple contacts. * Subscriptions - associated with a contact. A contact can have multiple subscriptions. There are a few reference tables for select boxes and other functions. The component should cross-reference the ecommerce component for new orders and add/update the company/office/contact/subscription data within the component. The data should also be updated from other sites which manage their own subscribers - these are all Joomla sites, although versions presently vary. This is currently implemented via a cron job on the existing site. Lists should also be updated in the email newsletter component (AcyMailing). In addition an import facility is required. This is to import contacts from a CSV file and create the necessary records (company/office/contact). This should endeavour to match to an existing company/office/contact if possible rather than creating a new record with a slightly different name. The current component includes company name aliases to try to help with this but we just need this developing a little further to reduce duplicates. Data structures will be the same or similar to the existing ones. The current data will need importing prior to the new site going live.
