I have good knowledge of full stack of network protocols - application layer (HTTP, SMTP, IMAP and POP3 etc), transport layer (TCP and UDP), network layer (IP), data link layer and physical layer. As you may know, SMTP, IMAP and POP are built above TCP and IP protocols, so if you need to implement an SMTP application you need to use the last two. I suggest to use C++ because C++ code runs faster than code written in other languages (Java, Python etc). I can use a network library such as Boost ASIO or POCO. I work under Windows and Linux both.
