.lua connect to mysql database

I am not 100% if this is possible but want I want to achieve is... I use a video game called NHL04. It uses a special launcher to overwrite things in game and uses .lua scripts to achieve this. To start off I want a script that will connect to my mysql database that is hosted by my provider. Also to start to just test this out I will make it so it tries to update a couple things in my database. my mysql table name will be schedule_scores I will update the following tables team1_score, team2_score, team1 and team2 since i have not found how I can grab the id I will set to 1903 from what i have found [login to view URL] = team2 [login to view URL] = team1 [login to view URL] = team1_score [login to view URL] = team2_score Just want to keep this basic for now, so as the game is being played this will update every so often into the database. I am guessing it would need an insert if not exsists or update if record does exsist Hope you get the idea if not I will gladly explain more
