School of photography Ordering and Appointment Management System
-The School photographs students graduating at a University for their graduation.
-School has had to adapt and be flexible when semesters and graduation schedules change.
-School sets up their photography studio in various locations on campus at different time intervals.
-During this process the School works directly with the University to produce graduation composites and other related photo services for Alumni and Archive management.
The School allows students to order or book for a graduation photography session. They book/cancel sessions and order photos and ask questions during the process.
There are Admin and Student sides to this online application.
There is currently a online application being used, but it's old and not working properly and needs to be replaced with a more refined online booking system.
-To duplicate the existing system, as is, by using the latest versions of PHP and MySQL
-To enhance the security of the website and coding.
-To incorporate the system with an SSL certificate on the School domain.
-To create a brand-new database alongside the fresh programming methodology.
-The old system needs to be transferred and accessible (and working) on a sub-domain while the new program will be placed on the root of the main School domain name. There is no need to transfer the current database entries to the new database that will be developed.
-To back-up the website on a regular basis on the server-side.
When a student places an order, the administrative ordering site gathers the information from their order details, once the admin has confirmed the online payment, a packing slip is sent to a designated inbox from which the School uses to pull images from the archive, touch them up and print and send them to the designated shipping address they gave when ordering. This is also a way for the School to chart the flow of orders and sometimes forward packing slips from the admin site (once confirmed as paid) to multiple printing locations depending on seasonal volume and types of printing. In some ways it’s a way to preserve workflow and estimate process ect…
Once the customer completes payment, PayPal sends an email to the inbox of the school, a copy of the receipt as well as the customer gets a confirmation email. The school later sends one from their own Helpdesk confirming we’ve successfully received the order because sometimes a customer still wonders if its complete even with PayPal confirmation.
