redirect http request to https through htaccess

We want to redirect all traffic from http to https through .htaccess. Its already happening in our platform. But right now we need to include the subdomain in the .htaccess file. but we we are looking for some rules which can do this job without including the subdomain url in the .htaccess
What we have now is
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [login to view URL]$1 [R=301,L]
For example
[login to view URL] to [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] to [login to view URL]
