The title basically says it all. I want a script that is constantly checking for domain names that are expiring or being deleted that match a certain criteria.
The criteria would be relativity simple. Basically, it would be any domain that is in between 1-4 characters (doesn't matter the extension), and 1-5 characters for .com domains. I want to be able to control that as well via a config file (maybe one day I just want to search for domains that are 4 characters long and that's it).
It is very important that it checks all domain extensions though, not just the most common ones (like .com, .net, .org, etc). I want basically every domain extension searched for, even the obscure ones that are not very popular. I also want the ability to add domain extensions in the config file if new ones appear in the future after this script is made.
Also, I would add a english and spanish dictionary wordlist, and any domain that makes up a word in one of those lists (doesn't matter how many characters it has) would also be listed. Again, I would like the ability to add or change wordlists if needed.
Now how you accomplish this is totally up to you. I have various different types of machines and OS's at my disposal. I run Windows 10 and OSX personally, and run quite a few linux webservers (that use CentOS). I would think that running it off one of my webservers would be best, but honestly I don't care. Whatever works best.
As for the output, I would like an email sent to me with a list of domains that are about to expire or be deleted every couple of hours in just plain text. You might want to research what is the best time frame for this, I'm not sure how often domains get put out for expiration - if it only happens once a day for example (I have no idea) then there's no need for me to receive an email every couple of hours, once a day would be fine. If it happens every 30 mins, then I would like an email every 30 mins. You get my point.
Bottom line, this script needs to be fast (I can put it on a very fast webserver, but still it needs t to be as efficient as possible considering all the domains it will be checking). It also needs to be reliable and have some sort of config file that I can easily change most of these settings.
Please post what language you plan on using, what OS you plan it to run on (most likely CentOS I'm sure), and how long approximately you think it will take to run each time.
I expect a working prototype before I release funds.
Thank you all for viewing this and I wish you all the best in winning this project.
