More information about our work: [login to view URL] About JointPRO JointPRO - [login to view URL] - is a web platform designed by the MSk lab for collecting Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) for patients with joint conditions. It aims to give feedback to the patient, researchers, and the health professionals involved in patient care about the patient’s condition and effectiveness of treatment. JointPRO supports several ongoing clinical trials as well as routine care evaluations. Imperial College London is the data controller of the data captured. There are 2,652 fully registered patients on the platform. More about the project: [login to view URL] Job Description We are looking for a new partner - either a company or a freelance developer - to manage the JointPRO web platform. The platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using a LAMP stack (Amazon Linux, Apache, AWS RDS, PHP) and built with Zend Framework. The job will have three main tasks: • Upgrade the platform to the latest stable PHP version and PHP framework • Improve and maintain the web platform on topics such as improved security, cloud architecture, documentation, and refactoring for readability • Develop features, such as additional questionnaires, and dashboards Additionally, we would like to develop the AWS stack by applying more modern architecture and deployment practices with CI/CD and container deployment. We would also like to adapt the website to be more smartphone friendly. The budget for ongoing website maintenance and development is £500 + VAT a month. In addition, PHP and platform upgrade is £1,000 + VAT. We are looking to sign a 2-year contract with a 3-month probation period. There is a possibility of contract renewal. Person Specification Experience and Knowledge • Expert web developer with proven expertise in PHP and the Zend/Laminas Framework • Experience working with sensitive personal data • Experience in general purpose programming languages such as Python and/or Node.js • Knowledge about web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript and React • Proficiency in SQL across standard relational environments • Knowledge of and experience with best-practice cloud architecture, serverless-services and containerized application • Knowledge and experience in task management, ticketing system and source control to enable managers to communicate the level of importance and resolution of assigned tasks • Knowledge of scientific principles and statistics • Experience in collecting user feedback to empower data-informed decision making • Examples of successfully developed web applications • Examples of open source contributions • Ratings as web developers on freelance / company listings site(s) • References must be available upon request Skills and Abilities • Ability to produce high quality, testable, and well documented code • Able to quickly debug an application and apply patches without unnecessary down time • Able to work in teams and suggest solutions using non-technical language • Proven ability to meet to deadlines and manage workload and priorities and respond to changing priorities • Availability to correspond in writing and speak on the phone during the hours of 9:00-17:00 UK London time • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English • Previous experience working in an academic or clinical environment is preferred Contractual Agreement(s) • Willingness to enter into contractual agreement(s) with Imperial College London to meet UK data protection and regulatory requirements If interested, please send a cover letter of how you would meet the above requirements and a copy of your CV.
