Currently, all files are on a physical IIS server on location. A .asp (database-management) script is launched when new data is added, and when a user places an order via the website. There is manual verification, deciding if the request is real/a verified customer before confirmation and file delivery. The process is as follows: • ASCII files currently sit in a folder on an IIS server for each data subset (Alberta/BC/Map) • Each file is formatted specifically with a well location tag in the name and in the first line of the file • When new files are added to the folder, an .ASP page is launched (internally visible), which scans the content of the particular folder and creates ASCII listings of the well names, file names and number of dips (Database reference file) • When a user searches on the website, the client-side .ASP script refers to this ASCII DB reference file to generate the listings (search results) • When a user orders a particular file or files, the site sends the client and us an email with an order confirmation • A second email is sent internally with a confirmation link to click that releases the file to the client • If confirmed, an email with the file(s) attached is sent to the client and us with a cost (costs are added to the server with the file) • Follow-up and invoice occurs offsite We aim to rebuild their website (Joomla 3.0) and need someone to help integrate this existing framework into the new site. What we need is someone to provide an estimate for: 1. Assessment: Systems analysis & Technical discovery 2a. Document file server upgrade, or 2b. Integration of site to existing system (on site) For 2a. We would like to migrate to a Virtual Machine running a new .net server or explore other hosting options provided costs are reasonable and it works with all access points and can be easily managed. Background info: The database folders are currently 3852 files and 185 MB. This is an over-count as this includes some duplicates but it’s good for a ballpark estimate. One option we would like to pursue would be adding a different type of file that would be much much larger than that – probably on the order of 500 GB-1 TB and maybe a thousand more files, though perhaps we could handle that with a single listing file and have the source data be offline and on our internal network.
