Switch Panel using Bluetooth to Communicate with a Bluetooth device

Build a panel with a variety of switches to control a device that uses a motor to (a) raise and lower and (b) perform another movement, on a device (details of the device confidential for the moment). The device is already built, and is already controllable by an Android tablet, and is working.
What is needed is a switch panel for those customers who don't want to use a tablet.
It will have maybe about 6 = 10 switches, and maybe a simple display and/or series of leds to indicate the current functioning of the device.
A good understanding of Bluetooth technology is required, together with usage of electronics, perhaps a Raspberry Pi and/or Ardunio or similar technologies; and PCB construction and design.
A proper requirements specification will be provided to whoever does this.
Hi.
I need to add that the project needs to take place in the UK, as the switch box needs to communicate with a unit that is in the north-west of the UK. You would need to come to North Cheshire to actually test the unit that the system communicates with.
Also - you MAY need to capture the bluetooth signals that are coming from the current Android tablet that may not be documented.
