New freelancers are welcome to apply: Looking for a legal analyst to assist in writing, editing, proofreading, and research. The individual will be working with a managing attorney to draft weekly risk sensing reports that include summaries of recent cases and settlements in the United States legal system. The individual will also be responsible for editing short news article summaries related to recent trends. Candidate must be fluent in the English writing and speaking language. Duties/ Responsibilities:  Research case dockets using CourtLink1 and Westlaw2 platforms and produce weekly summaries on unsealed cases and settlements for risk reporting  Research False Claims Act litigation trends, news as needed in support of other team members  Perform additional case and settlement research as needed using open-source3 data  Perform additional legal writing and research as requested by legal analyst manager  Communicate with legal analyst manager as needed and report in a punctual manner based on weekly deadlines Requirements:  Undergraduate or higher degree desired  Experience in reviewing online case dockets  Fluent in English, including excellent reading and comprehension abilities  Excellent English written communication skills  Excellent attention to detail  Strong organizational skills  Intermediate level + experience with Microsoft Word  Excellent legal researching skills  Excellent editing, proofreading, and writing skills Preferred:  Experience working in legal platforms such as CourtLink, WestLaw  Understanding of the US legal system, US law  Understanding of the False Claims Act  Experience in qualitative data analysis and online research Key Competencies:  Excellent writing skills  Meets deadlines  Comfortable with legal research methodologies  Solves problems  Acts as a team player  Responsive There is an ongoing flow of work for the ideal candidate with $20-$30 weekly payments on freelancer.com
