Matomo - Multi-currency handling on single website

We have a platform for e-commerce and use Matomo for engagement analytics. The ecommerce platform is built with Ruby on Rails. The requirement is for the ability to handle multiple currencies in Matomo for the shopping cart purchase tracking. You need to have done the development of the same feature in Matomo for another client.
