PLEASE READ THIS JOB POSTING IN IT'S ENTIRETY AND CONSIDER YOUR AVAILABILITY/QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE APPLYING Content/Community Moderator and Virtual Assistant - Introductory Moderation Job - $4/hr - 4+ Feedback is preferred. This is a fairly simple P/T job, however, it does require keen attention to detail and efficient time management skills. VA will begin contract on a 2 week trial basis, which may turn into an increase in pay (to $5-$6/hr) and a long-term contract depending on performance. **You must have FIXED weekend availability in order to be considered for this position** **You'll need to be available to consistently work in U.S. Eastern Standard Time and understand how to properly convert your time zone into U.S. EST** **You must also be willing to download a tracking software to your computer so that I may track that you're doing the required work during the scheduled times.** Desired availability: 12 hours per week on an ongoing basis or until your services are no longer needed These are the hours you'll need to be available: Friday: 12 PM to 2PM EST Saturday: 4PM to 9PM EST Sunday: 4PM to 9PM EST **Please don't apply if you are not able to work this specific schedule.** Dedication and solid availability to work the required hours are the most important qualities I am looking for. Bids around $4.00/hour are preferred. This job is for an entry level online content and community manager. You will be in charge of moderating content for two separate websites. With this position there's opportunity for a quick initial pay increase after the trial period (to $5-$6/hr) and an increase in hours as you prove yourself over time. There's also opportunity for a long-term contract depending on your dedication and performance. Desired Qualities: - Fast learner - Self-sufficient/self-starter - Detail orientated - Excellent time management skills - Can follow simple instructions via video tutorials and email communications Your collective responsibilities for both websites will include: - Writing a large number of quality comments in a short time frame - Finding quality business related content and videos to submit to the parent website - Monitoring the platform to make sure all functions are working properly and escalates platform issues to me - Moderating American news topics including digital and video content automatically pulled from social media and sorting that content into specific categories Required experience: - Google docs - Google spreadsheets (to keep track of content/comment progress) - Experience engaging and interacting online with a community of business professionals - You must be have solid knowledge of current American news stories in the U.S. Comprehending American news on a range of topics including: National News, Politics, Entertainment, Sports and Technology Because you will be writing comments and interacting with business professionals, you will need to have excellent English skills, both reading and written. You should also have some general knowledge about small businesses and entrepreneurialism. This job is for applicants who: 1. Want to gain ODesk experience 2. Can work 12+ hours per week, on a specific U.S. EST weekend schedule, for as long and I need your services 3. Want a chance to prove themselves on ODesk for higher-paying part-time or full-time work in the future with this organization or another one
