I am VERY new to Linux, so please don't assume I know any basic commands. Thank you.
I am running UBUNTU server 14.04 with NO GUI. I do have Webmin installed and running.
On the same subnet I have a Synology NAS with NFS enabled and a shared folder.
The goals is to map the share folder on the NAS so that users have their home directories in there. Synology can manage quotas for users, so each will get a 1 Gigabyte.
I did manage to mount the NAS shared folder, but i get errors when creating users. There are 3 million guides online, but nothing seems to help me solve my problem.
Hi!
- I known you want use Synology NAS to share storage for users run on ubuntu server 14.04. But I think you have wrong understand about quota for user on linux. If you config NAS quota for user, it not apply for user on linux. If you want add quota for user on linux, you can mount NAS to home directory and set quota service on linux to quota storage for user linux.
I can resolve your problem and setup for you on about 2 hour!
