Help with Home Lab Routing

I have a VMware Home Lab with the below specifications: 2 Physical HPR710 Servers - Server 2016 (One is DC/DNS, the other is just member server) 1 Old NetGear GS724T Smart Switch 1 Comcast Router out to internet (not managed) Internal "Home" LAN is 10.0.0.x/24 with c. 10 devices outside the lab Up til now I have been running VMware WorkStation on each physical server. Each server can support 1 SAN appliance and 4 virtual ESXi hosts. I create a single vCenter and add all ESX to it. All VMs created are simply assigned a static IP on the home LAN. I now have a requirement to break this out into two vCenter environment to test migrating a large number of VMs from an older version to a new. I need to be able to create VLANs in both the old and new VMware environment (which means they need to exist on the physical network) so I can test automation scripts I have written for migrating the VMs en masse. I have tried, through VMware Workstation, to set up multiple virtual networks but am unable to get traffic to route between the two. Routing and Switching is not my strong suit. So I am looking for some assistance in configuring AND documenting a robust scenario. My goal is to have it documented, whether directly through VMware Workstation or by using a virtual router appliance like Vyos, so that if I tear down then environment in the future (or have to add to it) I can reconfigure without assistance.
