We need a few Freelance camera operators for an ongoing industrial video project. We are producing training videos for a Silicon Valley company and need backup or primary operators. Most of the time we will supply equipment, but sometimes we may need additional cameras and tripods. We are shooting machinery in a clean, indoor environment. This is controlled shooting. The machines that we shoot are constructed of reflective aluminum surfaces so you must know how to control light reflections, and how to induce light reflections to add depth and dynamics to a shot. The range of subject matter is from "dark" areas of machines to very white areas, usually in the same shot. The machines have many corners and circular components so they can be difficult to shoot and made to look good. You will work alone with a producer/technician on location. No sound is recorded on location other than "nat". You must be in good physical condition to setup on, around and under the machines. "old school" shooters definitely welcome. Requirements: Sony XDCAM or better level experience; full understanding of cameras, and control of camera and depth of field; lighting with basic LED flood lights; a good understanding of shooting geometric shapes and how to capture them while minimizing lens and shape distortion; ability to quickly adjust setup for lighting and camera angles. People with editing experience is a plus.
