ODBC or OLE DB
I want to create a website, myself, but I need someone to give me a head start. So, here's what I need you to write (and then I should be able to figure out how to do the rest of my application). I need to be able to view your code and be able to move it to another server if I have to.
Your task: Create a website that lets the user input an ID number, look up that number in a FoxPro database, and display the associated person's name and age. Let the user edit the spelling of the name and then update the database. So, there will be two buttons: Search and Update. If the ID number is not found, display an appropriate message. Include an "I'm not a robot" box that must be clicked before the Search is allowed. All of the search and update code must be on the server side so that the database is protected from the user knowing any access information.
The database is in Foxpro and is located on a Windows 2012 server.
The website eventually will be hosted on (AWS) Amazon Lightsail, probably under Linux. (You may develop on any host, but the code must be transferable.)
I will set up the account and provide the database and any keys and privileges that you need.
You will need to tell me what you need from me.
OLE DB is to be used, not ODBC (which is an older standard).
