I am looking for someone who knows and can describe in great detail (so it would redoable/reproducible by other people) some local skill, that is unique and specific to the locality.

Specifically, I am looking for skills that are different from a comfortable western lifestyle or the very old/primitive ways of doing things. For example, long-term food storage without refrigerator/electricity, building some specific trap to catch some animal that your grandfather used, special herb mix to treat angina from your grandmom etc...
