Balance Sheet
Vertical analysis of balance sheet shows that liquidity position of GE is strong consisting of 13% of total assets whereas fixed assets are only of 14% of total assets. Percentage of inventories and receivables of total assets have grown due to a decrease in goodwill and fixed assets. However, values of inventories and receivables have decreased in 2016 compared to last year. Additionally, it is noted that GE has sold several assets in a current year as an asset held for sales has reduced by 38% (horizontal analysis).
